Acorn Stairlifts is a family owned company that began in 1992. When the company first started off they bought used stairlifts and fixed them up to better sell them to customers. They would also purchase brand new stairlifts from other manufacturers and resell them to consumers.

It did not take very long for them to find new ways to expand in order to keep up with the needs of their customers. They knew right away that the best way to accomplish this was to create their own unique line of stairlifts that would be better than all of the rest. It was from this that they created the famous Acorn Superglide Stairlift – which is one of the most common lift on the market.

They designed their first lift to be safe, simple to use, east to install, and even easier to take care of. This one model was able to fix dozens of problems that their customers had with the models that they were using from the other manufacturers. Soon their products were the best on the market.

Over the years as technology has progressed so has Acorn and the technology that they use for each of their stairlift models. They use a contemporary design for each model that utilizes the most modern technology including the new DC power. They chose this new battery supply to make it safer for people to use and gave the ability to access it during power outages.

Once Acorn switched over to DC power the other manufacturers followed their lead. This proved that Acorn Stairlifts was the leading manufacturer in the market. They now supply their products on an international level and produce more than 30,000 lifts every year.
